Welk B et al. reported a full health economic evaluation of hydrophilic-coated intermittent catheters (HCICs) in a Canadian setting.

Lifetime costs and lifetime health consequences of using either hydrophilic-coated or uncoated intermittent catheters (UCs) were compared for people with neurogenic bladder dysfunction due to traumatic spinal cord injury. Analyses were carried out from two perspectives: a public payer’s perspective was taken for the primary analysis and the societal perspective for a secondary analysis.
