This publication describes the results from an observational survey of a US cohort of 200 individuals with spina bifida. All included subjects had a diagnosis of either myelomeningocele (92.5%) or lipomyelomeningocele (7.5%), utilized catheterization as their bladder management, and were aged 3 years or older. The purpose of the study was to evaluate:

• At what age self-management of intermittent catheterization is possible.

• Which factors are related to independence in intermittent catheterization
